Insomnia Restaurant Bar and Lounge on Bloor Street West has been a neighbourhood gem for over fourteen years. This classic Annex staple consistently delivers great food, music, and an impressive martini and cocktail selection. Keeping true to Torontonians tastes, the menu is a mixture of Mediterranean, French and International flavours, without being pretentious. They keep it close to home, just look at their selection of pizzas, all named after neighbourhoods in the city. Our personal favourite is the “Queen St.”- A thin crust pesto pizza with smoked salmon, capers, red onions, chèvre and Parmesan. Another dreamy dish is the Walnut Penne, with baby spinach, asparagus, and roasted walnuts in a creamy asiago sauce. The kitchen, also knows how to deliver classics such as the 8oz. New York striploin, in a peppercorn jus with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. Brunch is a weekend-only highlight. People go bananas, for the fresh waffles.
